The
actor Eduardo Verįstegui confirms he is closer to God, and
how this aspect changed his life

You
wish to be an actor and singer for just three purposes:
Fame, money and women. But due to the stronger ties with
God, Eduardo will no longer be satisfied by those three
purposes, and he took the decision to abandon that what
he could have and how he could obtain that. This is according
to his representatives, to make a fresh new beginning in
the world of entertainment.
Sitting
relaxed in front of a large window, allowing sunshine entering
the hotel room, and in the background the sea of Santa Monica,
Eduardo appears rejuvenated both in mind and soul. He announces
his return to the big screen. Now he is producer of Metanoia
Films, and is sponsored by the big producer Steve McEveety
(Passion of the Christ, BraveHeart, Immortal Beloved).
The
Tamaulipecan explains he took the decision 2 years ago,
to redirect the heading of his Hollywood career.
Hollywood
wanted to convert him into the next '"Latin Lover"", but
this was against the principles of Eduardo, and made him
feel uneasy.

all started after Chasing Papi. After this movie I was in
New Zealand to do the filming of Meet me In Miami"" Eduardo
remembers, ""There I started to have doubts on some aspects
of my career. I started to ask myself; here I am having
12 years of career under my belt, what are my plans in life?

""I
felt uneasy, I didn't feel inner peace, I didn't feel satisfaction.
I did some introspection and overviewed my career. I discovered
I was actor and singer just for shallow and frivol reasons.
As if it was just for the women and the money""
The
actor commented, the biggest influence on redirecting the
heading of his career was caused by his female teacher English.
This lady is a devout follower of Our Lady of Medjugorje.
"'I
always have been devout Catholic, but my teacher English
influenced me to become much closer to God"", Eduardo adds.
""It's thanks to her I heard of the life and work of Medjugorje.
Then my inner conversion started, I started to visit the
Church on a daily routine basis.
At
a given moment, while keeping on his spiritual track, he
told that he rejected the Hollywood plans to make a new
Latin Lover of him.
Added
to this: the Latin actors in Hollywood are always cast in
the similar roles, to play criminals or prostitutes, and
this one; that of the Latin Lover, which is a man seducing
a thousand ladies, this is what was offered me as promotion.
My
ex-agents and manager wanted me to perform the role as Latin
Lover, and at first I was happy and satisfied with life.
But later on I felt a lot of sadness because I was used
by them, and I do not want this anymore""
He
told he was close to the point to confront his manager and
representative, to tell them about his decision to quit,
because he felt continuing this was a lack of dignity. ""They
ought to think I was getting crazy. They told me ""No, no
Eduardo, if you wants to make money you have to do it this
way, it's only this way you can make money""
""And
I told them: Just wait a minute, who told you I just want
to make money? I have 12 years of career behind my belt,
but I only experienced emptiness, lies, and illusions""
Eduardo expressed.
Yes Eduardo depicted exactly what he erased in his previous
life and what he takes on account in his new life.
