Eduardo
Verástegui
Charming by the Gods
Intelligent,
elegant, and bold, the Mexican actor has an ace of triumph
on his sleeve. One of the most seen faces of the year 2001,
was without a doubt the face of the mexican actor and singer
Eduardo Verástegui. All the doors of the showbusiness rolled
out the red carpet towards him. On all the TV channels of
the USA, of Latin America, Eduardo Verástegui is echoed.
This allows him to step up his ambition to become a world-wide
mega-star. The crown is put on top of 10 years hard working
for Verástegui, with his first solo CD.
""It
has been a tremendous year, and very hard working. But I
love it very much. I am succeeding bit by bit in achieving
the things I love to get accomplished."" confirmed Verástegui
with eloquence and sensitivity, while talking exclusively,
just hours before leaving to Mexico, to launch his CD there,
bearing his name.
""We
would like to launch the CD in Mexico to conclude, however
I am identified there too much as an actor instead of being
a singer. It's important to get the CD on the shelves there,
it's one of the biggest markets of the American continent,
and meanwhile promoting it at other places as well"", Eduardo
commented, sitting in front a magnificent panoramic view
of the skyline Miami. This splendid view can be enjoyed
from the living room of his luxurious apartment.
Since
2 years I live in Miami, a city I like very much, and it
was here where the success arrived for me. Because it's
here where you can find all the music-industry and other
show business at the same spot.
Eduardo
admitted he has no time to enjoy the nightclubs of this
exciting Sun City, neither the other attractions of this
city. But Eduardo told he enjoys the sunshine very much.
I enjoy being in the sun and being outdoors, it's good for
my health.
Now
Eduardo appears with a cropped hairdo, stylish and unconventional.
The beauty of his chiselled face is even more impressive.
I
shaved it off my own with my own shaving-apparatus, while
my stylist was on holidays. I didn't like the way it was,
so I decided once more to sport a cropped hairdo."", Eduardo
smiled.
After
acting in 5 telenovelas, and singing in the band Kairo,
doing performances throughout Mexico and other countries
in Latin America, Verástegui commented he now enters a critical
stage in his career.
""I
am so happy to have returned to the music. This was my huge
dream since when I was in Mexico City at the age of 17.
Looking at his burning emerald green eyes makes you feel
melt like snow in the heat of a blazing sun....
""it
was not easy, but right now I am on track with my career""
It's reminded those days of the past, the father of Eduardo,
was opposed to the plans of his son to make a careerr in
the show business. Eduardo his father runs a huge sugar-cane
farm, and is agricultural engineer.
In
those days Eduardo worked as bartender while having the
huge dream of becoming a star.
""I
did various auditions as model, and received a scholarship
at the Mexican CEA (Academy for television)""
During
a photo-session Verástegui met the producer Francisco Zorilla,
who stimulated Eduardo to take part in the band Kairo. This
sparked the huge success Eduardo would soon make in the
industry.
He
did so, taking part in the band Kairo, did acting in the
telenovela Mi querida Isabel, his first Telenovela.
""It
was the producer Angeli Nesman who had the idea, and it
was presented as being starred by ourselves as persons,
rather than our figurative characters of the Telenovela"",
emphasized Eduardo
Eduardo further explained, how things went, and after completing
the project, he went to New York to continue study. Followed
by his return to Mexico.
Despite the success with his second Telenovela ""Una luz
en el Camino"" (= A light upon the Path"") it took a year
of doing auditions for different productions to get a role.
He did so without success, until Eduardo met Emilio Larossa,
who offered him a role on Sonadoras (=Dreamers)
I
keep on enjoying the art of acting, and I have the best
of contacts with Televisa, the production company I am so
very grateful.
It's
just that I am in another phase of my career and they understand
so very well""
It's
a fact that this influential production company was a great
help to Eduardo on his solo-career. The second part of the
promotion of Eduardo his CD ""Vivo la Locura"" is selected
as theme of one of the Telenovelas produced by Televisa
at the moment.
""They
have all the infrastructure , e.g. radio, press and television
for the process of the promotion"", Eduardo told.
The fact the first solo-CD is well received, leaves Verástegui
happy, but he's well aware of the fact the music industry
currently is in deep trouble, and the music industry is
entering these days a critical stage in it's history.
He expressed he will not give live concerts until the day
his second album is released. ""No, I am yet solidifying
my presence in the music industry. At the moment I am only
doing presentations for television, or for promotional purposes"".
Verástegui is well aware of the fact being a musician demands
a lot of dedication as well as financial resources.
As supposed Verástegui has to make the ""Cross-over"", similar
to the other young pop stars. Verástegui is preparing for
this too, stating ""I am speaking english, not perfect,
but it's ok. This being said to defend myself!"".
Surrounding himself with artworks, presents given him by
well known artists for those of which he modelled, or other
artworks he purchased for a bargain, the gorgeous young
man and singer told about his frustration.
""I
am from a family of artists. I have uncles who sing, family
members who compose. ""One of my three sisters is painting
and I would love to do painting as well as my grand daddy
did, but I do not know how to start!"".
A beautiful painting is decorating his bedroom, with colours
matching the warm yellows and ochre’s of the ceilings, walls
and floors. Verástegui painted them so, with some help of
family and friends, to create the warm atmosphere of his
cosy new home.
""My
parents are very happy with my achievements"" he confirmed
with a warm smile, emphasizing his love and respect for
his parents, who visited his nice home in Miami, to celebrate
New Years eve.
""This
profession has no end, no limit, and the work is never completed.
There is a lot of work to do, working working working, this
is the only way to succeed and realize your dreams. There
is no alternative"".
