How it feels to be the dad of a ""Papacito""!!

Using the momentum of the interview Sir José Verástegui, father of the famous actor and singer Eduardo Verástegui told us how he felt when his son started working in the artistic world as artist. Despite the negative start of 9 years ago, today he is the biggest fan of the ex-singer of the music band Kairo.

All his life Eduardo liked the artistic world, but not until 9 years ago, when he kicked off his career as professional singer and actor.

He abandoned a previous career as lawyer, he was studying Law. He was asked to do so by his father. He left his family and hometown of Xicoténcatl Tamaulipas, to seek fortune in Mexico City.

It's assumed that this note didn't please his father, José Verástegui Treviño, who had other plans in mind for his son.

He never could have imagined his son heading into the artistic direction. Eduardo eldest of a family of 4 children, was seen in his dads' mind to become lawyer, His dad could not have imagined seeing his son evolving into a successful artist, singing acting and dancing in front of the cameras of photographers, TV and movie-makers.

""I really hampered him; I wanted him to divert his career in another direction. I didn't like he left México to seek his dreams to be realized elsewhere. It was against my will, it's for this I aborted my financial support, thinking he would end up as a transitory artist, and I was thinking this was a case of madness of the youth. I was thinking my son was doing it just to ride the waves of fame, to be popular, so I told him: ""I am not going to support you financially""" remembered Sir José who is agricultural engineer.

But when time passed, his son proved him his dedication, strength, determination and courage to succeed in an artistically career. It became obvious to Sir José, Eduardo was pursuing a wonderful dream, which he was fulfilling bit by bit.

His first success came when he became part of the band Kairo. He travelled with Kairo throughout Mexico and the surrounding countries.

""I was very afraid the moment I saw Eduardo entering this kind of environment. I was prejudice everything related to the artistic world as being bad and I didn't want this happening to my son. I realize today I was a bit uncompromising. I was not planning a career for Eduardo, but once he told me ""you had plans to arrange all of my life, but according to me you didn't appreciate"" and then was the moment I dropped all my defences"" explained the father of Eduardo.

The actor of the Telenovela Alma Rebelde (""Rebellious Soul'") understands and respects the former worries and fears of his dad. If he would stand in the shoes of his dad, he would do exactly the same. If he himself would be dad and facing his son too entering the madness of the entertainment industry he would act similar.

I would convince my son the world of show business is madness. I went to Mexico City without knowing anyone. I went there without having any certainties in life. And my dad was thinking ""this is madness"" and of course he was upset about it. I would respond exactly the same if I would have a son doing the same. But when I indeed moved and did all my auditions, and became successful, all between me and dad turned for the best, all calmed down, and ever since he's my biggest fan.

When I told dad I was not living the fast lane, then all went very well. Added to this, I don't smoke, I don't drink, and when dad saw I was living up to good principles, all calmed down and my family accepted my decision. The only disagreement that will remain is the fact I am separated by distance from my family, since I live in another country. At first my family wanted me to deflect the direction my career was heading, but soon after they accepted my decision, above all they want me to be happy"" told the friend of Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Donatella Versace.

These days all changed within the family Verástegui. Sir José converted into the biggest fan of his son, collecting every news item that is published featuring his son as topic.

""I am incredibly proud of my son, as I told you, he is my only son, and he represents all my hopes and dreams, he is my soul, my life, my successor. Every time I see my son I wish him all the best. Today I see the huge achievements of my son with great joy and pride. I am forever his number one fan and so in all aspects of his career""", Sir José explains.

However they are separated by long distances, Eduardo and his family keep in close contact. His three sisters now are living abroad too, each which their respective careers heading in another direction. For the parents of the singer there is no other option but to call everyday to stay in touch with their children. ""Keep in mind Eduardo is appreciating all of me, however I am profane regarding all he is doing, he always talks to me and asks me ""Daddy do you like what I am doing? What's your opinion?"" He adds with a warm smile.
