GET
TO KNOW THE BEAUTIFUL PLACE
WHERE EDUARDO WAS BORN

........
.........
At
a beautiful place our beloved Eduardo spent his youth. He
grew as child and played surrounded by a splendid environment
of beautiful nature. It's for sure a contribution to his
internal peace was given by the splendid peaceful nature
all around him in his beautiful place of childhood.
Eduardo
was born in Ciudad Mante, just a few ours drive from the
town where he grew up Xicoténcatl. This in the state of
Tamaulipas Northern Mexico. Here for the reader interesting
information about the beautiful state that gave birth to
a huge Star
The
region where now the city Cd Mante is located was known
in the past by the name "five meadows of the horses", a
language "Tenek" which means "Place of the canoes"
Sir
Hipólito Avilés, from Cd. Mante, a man who did some research,
claimed that the word "Mante" was derived from the word
"náhuatl" from the náhuatl people, the word consisting of
three vowels from this language."man", "atl" and "tetl"
means in respective order "place of", "water" and "stone"
. Join the words together makes up "The place of water in
the stone" , or "where the water flows out of the stone"
. Pointing towards the origin and birth of the river Rio
Mante, where the river wells from the rocks of the Mountains
de Cucharas.
But
the previous cannot be true, because in this region nobody
ever spoke about the native people being náhuatl people
as natives, on the contrary it's proven that the people
who lived here in the past where in fact huastecas, mayan
people, and the language they used was "tének" or "huasteco"
, but certainly not náhautl.
After
consulting various highly educated historians who performed
an in depth investigation studying "tének" , it's known
the word "Mante" was a conjunction of two words, formed
by two races who once lived here: the word "man" means "yellow"
, and the word "te" means "trunk, mast" or "tree" . A profound
view, referred at the yellow tree, is the tree which bears
the same name, and indeed is a bright yellow coloured tree,
which has beautiful yellow leaves when it's grown mature
and bears fruit. At a distance, then this tree indeed appears
to be yellow.
So
it's the tree that gave the name to the river Rio Mante,
and centuries later to the city Ciudad Mante as well. Most
of the claims of sir Avilés are correct, but the claim of
the origin of the name "Mante" was not correct, it was not
"where the water flows out of the rock" but indeed the version
of the tree.
The
fact is this beautiful tree gave birth to the name "Mante"
, the tree has the same name and is part of the biological
species of the "Zapotáceos" , "Mante" means "yellow tree."
City
(Ciudad) Mante is a very attractive tourist resort, a wonderful
place to be, a prosperous and beautiful part of Mexico.
All the places in the vicinity of this city are mentioned
in greater detail, with their characteristics.
El
Nacimiento, this town just 11 km ( 7 miles) away from Ciudad
Mante, offers accessible by road all year round, and the
most beautiful spot is a well of water, surrounded by the
rocks of the Cucharas mountains. This fantastic holiday
resort can be enjoyed by family, spending a great day on
the countryside. You can swim here, relax on the lake by
boat, and there is a magnificent cave, when you look at
the entrance of it you see crystal clear water, pure and
of drinking quality. It reflects in a beautiful emerald
green colour, illuminated by the light of the opening in
the cave.
La
Aguja is another splendid resort, just 7 km (4 miles) away
from Ciudad Mante, it's a lake formed by a dam built over
the river Rio Mante, and the lake is used for irrigation
of the huge lush green sugar-cane fields of the area. This
engineering marvel was constructed during 1927, lasting
until 1927 when it was inaugurated. You can travel by boat
until arriving at it's origin
Las Playitas del Limón, just 12 km (7 miles) north of Mante,
is the nice town el Limón, where the friendly, warm citizens
are closely related to Ciudad Mante. Down to the riverbanks,
we find a very nice area where rivers merge. Before arriving
at the Playitas, the river Sabinas, the river Frío, merge
into the river Guayalejo. This place is visited by huge
amounts of tourists, attracted by the tranquillity and peace
of the landscape, the crystal clean unpolluted shallow waters
of the river.
The
two caves, cave del Abra, and cave las grutas de Quintero,
are two caves of the mountains de Cuchara, the favourite
and best known attractions of the region. Attractive too
because of their proximity to ciudad Mante. It's worthwhile
to pay a visit to admire the depths of the cave which entrance
shows a depth of 116 meters (330 feet) The cave was entered
and partly explored by speologists of San Antonio (Texas)
in 1956, and the other cave, la gruta de Quintero offers
you a spectacular view of thousands of bats, who live in
this cave and find shelter and food there.

Shown
on this photo, build in the 19th century as a huge building,
part of the vast hacienda "El Naranjo" (The Orange Haciendo).
It was famous in it's time, famous people like General Porfirio
Díaz visited it. The building stands south of the town Nuevo
Apolonia.

The
dam Ramiro Caballero Dorantes is to be visited by a drive
over the highway leading towards the big city Tampico. Before
arriving you'll pass the magnificent bridge over the river
Rio Guayalejo, and there is a diversion you can take, which
brings you to the dam Estudiante Ramiro Caballero Dorantes,
where you can enjoy fishing. It's an enclave where you will
see abundant numbers of white winged doves, ducks, and goose.
The dam is a massive wall of 1,6 kilometres (1 mile) and
has a height of 10 meters (33 feet). The dam created a lake
of 10,000 hectares.
El
Bernal de Horcasitas, is a landmark feature, which cannot
be missed by any visitor travelling over the highway Mante-Tampico.
The extinguished volcano rises up from the flat farmland
over 820 meters ( 2600 feet). This awesome natural monument,
stands tall and alone in the relatively flat tropical landscape.
No other mountain this kind can be found within a radius
of 45 kilometres. It will make a lasting impression on every
tourist visiting this beautiful mexican state!

El
Cielo (The Heaven) is an area covering 144,530 hectares,
and is a wildlife paradise. A vast number of wildlife species
find a save haven here, 175 different species of migrating
birds, and 225 birds that live there permanently. Abundant
numbers of amphibians, and mammals, like the deer "cola
blanca" , black bear, jaguars. In wintertime you'll see
a bright yellow butterfly, only seen here in Tamaulipas!
This abundance of wildlife is possible by the excellent
topographic location, warm balmy tropical climate. All of
this together makes up an unique biological biotope, unique
on Earth.
