Know
his history...

José
Eduardo Verástegui Córdoba was born the 21th of May 1974
in Cd. Mante, Tamaulipas, son of a family of farmers. He
completed his studies in Mexico and the United States. At
the age of 17 he left his hometown Xicoténcatl, Tamaulipas
Mexico, with a lot of dreams and aspirations to become celebrity
in Mexico. He studied at the famous institute CEA, -where
the stars of Televisa are born-, he studied acting. A year
later, age 18, he participated in an audition to become
singer in a music band of youth, called Kairo.
He
was singled out without a shred of a doubt, to become one
of the three singers. They recorded in Milan, Italy, as
well as in Egypt, to tape their first video-clip. They toured
through cities, and towns throughout Mexico and the whole
Latin American Continent. To promote their music, however
the success felt somewhat short related to their huge efforts.
The music band ceased to exist, leaving 2 albums.
During
the rearrangements his inspirations to continue singing
kept very much alive, even more so after leaving Kairo.
Despite the fact Eduardo his biggest passion was singing,
he opted for an acting career which wich was a tremendous
success. He landed roles in as much as 5 Telenovelas (Spanish
for Soaps), the first ""Mi querida Isabel"" (My dear Isabel),
where he played a singer, the second he was a religious
person, seminarist, at ""Una Luz en el Camino"" ( A Light
upon the Path), the third was in the telenovela ""Soñadoras""
(Dreamers), where he played a young man, an orphan having
problems with drugs and alcohol. At the Telenovela ""Alma
Rebelde"" (""Rebellious Soul"") he played both a hero and
a villain, a double-role. The 5th Telenovela he starred
in was ""Tres Mujeres"" (""Three Woman"") where he played
an oncologist.
After
his first Telenovela Eduardo left to New York, to pursue
studying acting, and tried one more time to land a contract
as singer. Attempting to show his acting and singing reel
at the large record companies, all he got were just polite
letters of rejection. With modelling for famous agencies
(Calvin Klein, Versacce and other big names) he got the
finances to further develop his career. He returned to Mexico,
stronger and better than ever as actor, but unfortunately
robbed of his dream to become singer.
As
a true hero Eduardo didn't give up his dreams, and with
perseverance and determination he kept on pushing, but the
music industry kept rejecting him: ""Please don't call,
we'll call you when we are interested"" etc.. He tried one
more bid at friends, which one was the producer Marco Flores.
After
this, he left it all, to go to Miami, at the spring of 2000.
While his career blossoming as Telenovela actor, Eduardo
now was set for finding new opportunities.
As
said before, Eduardo left his hometown Xicoténcatl at the
northern part of Mexico, a nice town with 15,000 citizens.
Without the persistence and courage Eduardo demonstrated,
he would have been stuck just there, working as daytime
loaner, like almost all his friends today are doing.
In
Miami, the most ""Latin influenced city of the USA"", Eduardo
met other young people, all with big dreams, high aspirations,
but little success. After more than 550 hours of acting
in Telenovelas, Eduardo became the best known face at Miami
Beach, where he did impressive physical workout, to strengthen
his muscles of steel. Furthermore Eduardo became addicted
to the eating of tuna, and the other delicious foods available.
However running low on money even without a car, Eduardo
kept positive, pumping up the volume of the music at his
little studio, nicknamed ""La Vecinidad del Chavo"" by his
friends.
While
doing a lot of workout, and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean,
Eduardo met one day Gloria and Emilio Estafan, and other
famous people of the music industry, as well as executives
of the press, television. His press packet was soon forwarded
to the well known name Fernán Martínez in the music industry,
a manager with good credentials, and known for his skills
to scoop up young new music talents like Eduardo. After
receiving the press packet of Eduardo, just 5 days later
Eduardo was at the music studio, grabbing the microphone,
and demonstrating his talents. When he left the studio,
Eduardo had a manager, songwriter, and a staff of producers,
embarking on the same project.
The
song Eduardo did was ""Yo No Se Perder"", the song that
was selected as the first song on the list of 10. Estefan
admitted he had the song Yo no Se Perder ready, but he didn't
have a good singer to sing it.. until the fortunate day
he found Eduardo!
In
the following 5 months, at hours and places least expected
, the texts of the other songs were born, Tequilla, Suave,
Estoy Aquí por ti, Vivo La Locura, Las Luces de la Ciudad,
Baila, A Partir de Hoy. The Cuban songwriter Donato wrote
""Por Ti"", and next, nobody less but the famous Omar Alfanno
heard of it, offered with generosity one more song of his
own, the song ""Por La Falta de tu Amor"". The whole project
was completed by naming the album Eduardo Verástegui. Ten
songs, with ten themes of love, ten different rhythms, excellent
""danceble'" music, artistic, authentic, original, and all
very very compelling, music that uplifts your soul and melts
your heart.
As
the project entered the final stages it was presented to
the record company Universal Music, the biggest in the world,
and the deal was made, it couldn't have been easier!
After
reaching this milestone Eduardo went to Rome to enjoy a
well deserved vacation!
While
the CD-copies rolling off the press, Eduardo called his
dad, and three sisters. By phone he demonstrated the songs
to his five friends from ""La Vecindad del Chavo"", who
nicknamed Eduardo ""Lalo"", which name is widely familiar
through his family, friend and countless fans.
Eduardo
returned to Mexico just 14 months after he left, back then
with a huge dream, right now with the contract under his
belt. He returned with the CD, named the ""Tortilla Digital"".
Right
now Eduardo has it all, he has become an pop-icon, thanks
to his enormous perseverance and dedication, his passion,
he succeeded in the way he wanted.
He
deserves this wonderful success so very much, since he is
such an outstanding artist, he works with a passionate soul.
The guardian Angel and his character, a dedicated Taurus,
both helped to pave the way towards success.
Currently
Eduardo is making it big in Hollywood, on the conquest of
the anglo-american public, he learnt himself english in
a crash-course of just 3 months!
Eduardo
got the opportunity to do a big-budget glossy Hollywood
movie, Chasing Papi, where he starred as leading man ""Thomas
Fuente"" a handsome executive. The movie was a very entertaining
romantic comedy, co-starred by Sofia Vergara (""Sissy""),
Rosalyn Sanchez (""Lorena'"), Jaci Velazquez (""Patricia"")
This
opened new doors of opportunity for Eduardo, he did incursions
in CSI Miami (CBS TV), Charmed (WB), and soon he will be
seen in the upcoming movie ""meet me in Miami"", taped by
the same crew who did the taping of ""Lord of the Rings""
in new Zealand.
At
this moment, 2004/2005 Eduardo is trying to establish himself
as producer, he is creating a company named ""Metanoia Films"",
and we all have high hopes Eduardo will realize all his
dreams! And some more projects are in the pipeline, we'll
inform you as soon as possible!
Tall,
dark and extremely handsome with his dark hair, chiseled
face, deep emerald glowing eyes, the mighty muscular body
of an athlete, and enormous charisma, he has the power to
crush solid rocks by just looking at them! Obviously this
actor, model, singer, is the dream of millions of woman
in America, the hispanic world, Europe, and Asia.
Included
in the long list of fans nobody less but Jennifer Lopez,
who had the privilege of doing the sizzling dance with Eduardo
Verástegui, in the video-clip ""Ain't it Funny"", where
Eduardo made worldwide headlines by starring as the sizzling
hot gipsy, without a doubt, the most sizzling dance ever
performed on a MTV video clip!
Studying law for a year, and followed his trip to Mexico
City to find his way to fortune. Working a short while as
bartender at a pub called " Salamanca ", he quickly
found his way towards fame by landing a job as singer at
the band Kairo. By modelling, acting in 5 Telenovelas, then
launching a big career as singer, and starring with J''lo
in 2001 in the mega-hit Ain't It Funny, doing a large Hollywood
movie, being elected among the planet 25 hottest bachelors,
together with George Clooney, Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise,
and prince William of England, the saga continues! Without
a doubt Eduardo is the conquistador of Hollywood, a formidable
star, and irresistible heartthrob.
